On an early-spring afternoon in March, Carlith and Mark married at the historic Benvoulin Heritage Church in Kelowna. Here is their day the way I shoot it: quiet, intimate, and full of warm window light.

An intimate wedding at Benvoulin Heritage Church

Carlith and Mark chose one of Kelowna's most beautiful old buildings for their March wedding: Benvoulin Heritage Church, a white heritage chapel and steeple that has stood on the valley floor for well over a century. Florals waited at the wooden doors, and inside the light came soft through the tall arched window and fell across the altar and the old piano.

Theirs was an intimate ceremony, the kind of day where every moment carries. They said their vows at the altar with their officiant in the window light, held hands by the piano, and shared a kiss beside that big arched window. I photograph these quieter weddings the way I photograph every day, documentary and unscripted, staying close and letting the moments breathe.

Afterward we stepped out into the early-spring afternoon for portraits on the church steps and the lawn, Mark meeting Carlith at the doorway in the warm light, her veil wrapped around the two of them on the porch. It was a simple, heartfelt day, and exactly theirs.
