A Summerhill Winery wedding in Kelowna, BC

On the first Saturday of October, Nina and Brandon married at Summerhill Pyramid Winery, with Okanagan Lake below and the vineyard just turning gold. Here is their day the way I shoot it, from quiet morning light to the last song of the night.

A fall wedding at Summerhill Pyramid Winery

Nina and Brandon chose one of the Okanagan's most photogenic spots for an October wedding: Summerhill Pyramid Winery, perched above the lake on Kelowna's east side. They both got ready at the Summerhill estate house that morning, in no real hurry. Brandon settled in with a quiet drink by the pool while Nina's Selkie gown hung waiting and her bridesmaids gathered around, and Elena Parker handled hair and makeup. By late morning the small details, the rings resting on the veil and the gown catching the light, were already telling the story of the day.

Summerhill's glass atrium is a gift for a fall wedding. When the afternoon light filters through the greenery it turns warm and golden, and we used every bit of it for portraits before moving out to the terrace, where Okanagan Lake stretches out below the vineyard. I photograph these moments the way I photograph the whole day: documentary and unscripted, with calm direction only where it helps.

They said their vows under the pergola, guests gathered close, as their officiant walked them through. Orchard Blossom Events styled the celebration and House of Blooms brought the autumn florals. Once the sun dropped behind the hills, Music Matters kept the dance floor going late into the night. It was a warm, generous day, the kind of Summerhill wedding that feels like the couple and not a template.
